Difficulty sleeping requires specialized treatment. As a board-certified behavioral sleep psychologist, I help adults, teens and children who struggle to turn off their minds at night, find themselves wide awake at odd hours, or feel unrefreshed in the morning, and those with distressing nightmares or vivid dreams. Although I often help folks reduce reliance on sleep aids if that is their goal, I work with anyone regardless of their current medications, substances, and supplements to improve their sleep naturally. I also help families with children whose sleep disturbances are disrupting bedtime and sleep for the whole household.
Sleep problems may begin out of the blue or stem from illness or stressors, and not sleeping well can make managing other conditions much more difficult. I have specialized experience treating sleep across a broad range of experiences, including: pregnancy and post-partum, parenthood, aging, illness, pain, depression, mood disorders, anxiety, and trauma.
